» Can MySpace survive without free music streaming?
The band pages on MySpace are really the only thing keeping people over the age of 12 (who feel the need to incessantly edit their profiles with custom flashy/trashy backgrounds) going to MySpace. What will happen when they no longer offer free streaming music? I know: people will just suck it up and download from iTunes/Amazon before updating their Facebook status to say that MySpace is so 2004.

Karen O + the Kids, “Heads Up”

I have decided I don’t need a child as an excuse to go see Where the Wild Things Are. Karen O is reason enough to do just about anything.

» Toby Keith among artists to play Nobel Peace concert?
Will and Jada Pinkett Smith as hosts? Sure. Wyclef Jean, Donna Summer, why not? But Toby Keith? Really?
In a joint statement, Will and Jada said, “The opportunity to recognize the laureate’s contributions to the world peace movement will be an awe-inspiring experience.”
Well, it could have been, but now the guy famous for singing, “We’ll put a boot in their ass, it’s the American way” is involved.
I’m totally confused — and appalled.

» everyone gets upset by Coldplay at some point
story time: i saw coldplay once. a friend suggested we take one of those charter bus trips to a big venue out of state, put together by a local bar where the perks are: you don’t have to drive and warm cans of bud light are included.
my pug stella was just a puppy i had for maybe two weeks. i figured she’d be alone for four or five hours, tops, and sleep. but the show/trip ended up being the most awful experience ever. the ride there and back was like being in a frat house on wheels, full of puka shell-wearing douchebags and inebriated, fresh-out-of-sorority girls puking into paper bags. the whole thing took about 10 hours.
that is why i will forever associate coldplay with a scared, lonely puppy who crapped all over my apartment.
